Larry King: Would You Buy a Fake Brooklyn Bagel From This Man?

CNN’s Larry King a bagel man? That apparently will be the long-time talk show host’s next move when he retires from his CNN cable TV show later this year.

King, 76, reportedly made $14 million a year to sit on the CNN set, often seemingly semi-comatose, interviewing countless guests whom he seemed to know or care little about.

Now he’s plunked down some of that change to become a financial partner in a company called “The Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Company,” according to Deadline.com.

The Florida-based company claims to have developed a technology that enables it to duplicate water that actually spews from the rusted, broken down water system in Brooklyn, NY.

At first glance, it doesn’t sound too hard to do. Just toss in some iron from rusty pipes, stir in some heavy metal contaminates, add a touch of raw sewage and you’ve got Brooklyn water, or something like it.

King will reportedly lend his name and throw his weight behind the company with an eventual eye on franchising the concept and creating a public company.

Wonder what Einstein’s Bagels would think of that?

If anybody can do it, though, King is the guy. He survived fraud charges in Florida, where he’s still a persona non grata and eight marriages to become the longest talk show host in history.

His latest marriage, however, blew up in a sex scandal, when his wife was accused of sleeping with their son’s baseball coach.

Think that’s bad? King was accused of sleeping with his wife’s sister.

Round denials followed from everyone — except the baseball coach, who went tabloid and bragged about the affair.

Look for the first eatery to open in Beverly Hills.

King’s biggest problem, according to the Web site, will be explaining himself to his pals at Nate N’ Al, where King has had breakfast almost daily for years.
