The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is examining a possible link between more than a dozen food tampering cases in Calgary and a recent incident in Vancouver.

CTV reports a man bit into a sandwich at a Quizno's restaurant recently and pulled out a two-inch long piece of metal with his teeth.

He notified the local health authority, which called the Quizno's and told them to dump their bread. They also informed Canada's food watchdog after Quizno's told them the bread had been baked here in Calgary.

All the food tampering incidents here have occurred at grocery stores, though police have said in a few of the cases they believe metal objects may have gotten into food during manufacturing.

One woman has been charged in one case of food tampering here in Calgary, while police are investigating numerous other cases.
