Frauds restitution dropped

An Ontario man who bilked dozens of prospective entrepreneurs of more than $1 million won’t have to repay the money. The Manitoba Court of Appeal in Winnipeg yesterday overturned the restitution order arguing it was unrealistic that Jeffrey Wuckert would ever be in a position to pay back the $1.2 million he defrauded from clients. Wuckert, 52, is serving a six-year prison term for selling non-existent accounting franchises across the country between 1989 and 1995.
